Where do our juice drink trends come from?
We use Tastewise to predict 2025 juice drink trends and deliver market leading insights. This social listening platform mines millions of unique data points across social media posts, restaurant menus, online recipes, and more to create a comprehensive picture of what’s heating up (or cooling off) in the food and beverage industry. Two main indicators of a trend’s strength are percent share of social conversations and percent increase in social conversations year over year (YoY).
- Percent Share of Social Conversations: How often a key search term or phrase is mentioned in conversations about a topic, relative to all conversations about that topic. For emerging trends this number will be quite low, as the flavor or ingredient has not gone viral or mainstream yet. This is the time to spot opportunity and be a trendsetter!
- Percent Increase in Social Conversations Year Over Year (YoY): Relative increase in mentions for a key search term or phrase in conversations about a topic. A significant increase YoY means there is more “chatter” around the flavor, ingredient, motivation, occasion, or any of the hundreds of other food and beverage variables. In larger sample sizes, this velocity metric is a good indicator of when a trend is gaining traction.
To uncover these juice drink trends, we segmented the database for beverage category content that also mentioned “Juice Drink.” With a sample size of over 377,000 people, we are able to gain early insight into emerging trends. Read on for exciting insights in Fruit Flavors, Supplement Ingredients, Functional Health, and Consumer Experience.
Fruit Flavors
Juice drink trends for 2025 show increased demand for “tart tropical” fruit such as tamarind, soursop, passion fruit, and calamansi. To smooth out acidic edges and green notes, try pairing them with sweeter, creamier fruits such as mango, peach, banana, or coconut. Dark and wild “enchanted forest” flavor profiles are also trending, as evidenced by increased interest in black cherry, currant, wild strawberry, and huckleberry flavors. These fruits carry an ethos of old Europe and North American forager with them, which fits in perfectly with today’s back to nature and cottagecore trends. For a flavor system with sophisticated nuance, try combining these newcomers with familiar botanicals like mint, basil, lavender, or rose.

Supplement Ingredients
Functionality will continue to dominate new product launches in 2025. While water soluble vitamins and minerals are consistent performers in juice drinks, we’re seeing traction in other supplement categories too. Whey protein, once popular only as a shake or smoothie ingredient, has been emerging as a topic of juice drink conversations. Blue algae is seeing growth as consumers learn more about its potential to reduce blood pressure and reduce inflammation. Adaptogens such as L-Theanine and lion’s mane mushroom are also becoming popular as natural approaches to mood enhancement, stress relief, and cognitive health.
Note: In order to remain effective and provided an enjoyable sensory experience for consumers, the best supplements for juices must meet several criteria: have good water solubility, remain in solution, survive thermal processing, and have low or no off notes or off tastes.
Functional Health
When it comes to juice drinks, managing glucose levels and supporting a healthy weight are a major focus for functional health claims. However, other consumer needs are rising. Weight loss drugs is by far the fastest rising functional health claim mentioned in “juice drink” conversations, which may indicate its use as either a medicine carrier or as a tool for treating the side effects associated with GLP agonists, such as Ozempic. While this is exciting YoY change, stress relief and anxiety are showing stronger relevance to the topic. Adding nootropic and adaptogenic functionals to juice beverages, while keeping them low in sugar and targeting the weight loss drug market, may be a smart strategy in the year ahead.
Consumer Experience
Understanding consumer experience is critical not just for beverage marketing, but for beverage development as well. At Blue Pacific Flavors, we are passionate about the way culture and environment shape consumer behavior. This year we’re seeing an emerging correlation between juice drinks and fast prep, indicating that juices are being used as more than just refreshing beverages in US households. Additionally, rejuvenation and cozy are showing strong relevance. The opportunity for juice to provide not just nutrition and refreshment, but support mental health and emotional well being is echoed in this consumer experience trend.
